The BOSS Thermoplastic Articulated is a custom-fabricated ankle-foot orthosis featuring a Tamarack hinge system, designed to provide controlled ankle motion with full lower leg containment and durable thermoplastic construction.

Brace Height: 1" Below Fibular Head

Shell Material: Polypropylene Standard, Co-Poly Optional, Carbon Fiber Optional

Shell Material Thickness: 1/8" Standard, 3/16" Optional, Co-Poly - 3/16" only option, Carbon Fiber - 1/16" only option

Trim Lines: Solid Ankle

Heel Cup Depth: 25mm

Hinge: Tamarack Standard, Dorsi Assist Tamarack Optional

Closure: Velcro Straps

Interior Padding: 1/8" EVA Black

Foot Plate Length: Meta Length Standard, Full Length Rigid or Soft Optional


L CODES

  • L1970- Ankle foot orthosis (AFO), plastic with ankle joint, custom-fabricated.

  • L2820- Addition to lower extremity orthosis, soft interface for molded plastic, below knee section.

  • If Standard Tamarack Hinge Selected 2200- (2x per brace) Addition to lower extremity, limited ankle motion, each joint.

  • If Dorsi Assist Tamarack Hinge Selected 2210- (2x per brace) Addition to lower extremity, dorsiflexion assist (plantar flexion resist), each joint.


CLINICAL INDICATORS

  • Mild to moderate foot drop

  • Dorsiflexion weakness

  • Post-stroke or neurologic gait abnormalities

  • Ankle instability requiring controlled motion

  • Need for swing-phase assistance with stance stability

  • Transition from solid to functional articulated bracing
