Forward Motion App 2.0

Introducing some major changes and improvements to our Forward Motion App. Version 2.0 represents a major step forward in how providers manage orthotic workflows. Built around real clinical needs, the platform brings everything into a single connected system with the goal to improve accuracy and help you save time.

To make this possible, we worked closely with podiatrists alongside our in-house development team to identify real-world challenges and opportunities for improvement. The result is a more intuitive experience with meaningful quality of life enhancements and upgraded functionality to better support your day-to-day workflow.


A True All-in-one Platform

One of the biggest challenges in clinical workflows is having to use multiple tools or disconnected systems with repetitive data entry. Forward Motion's app has been able to solve this by bringing everything you need into one device. From the app, you're able to:

  • Enter patient information

  • Complete 3D scanning

  • Adjust prescription

  • Send out orders


This means you can prescribe custom orthotics and AFOs from start to finish without ever leaving the app and helps to reduce steps and minimize errors while creating a more efficient workflow.


At the same time, the platform is built for flexibility and supporting real-world clinic workflows. The app seamlessly connects with our desktop portal, allowing you to start a scan on your phone or iPad and complete the order later without losing progress.

Assistants can capture patient information and scans, while providers can review and finalize prescriptions later on the web portal to make collaboration easier and more efficient.


Order by Condition: Smarter Clinical Decisions

Instead of navigating extensive product catalogs, providers can now order based on patient condition, creating a more intuitive and clinically-driven starting point for every prescription.


The Order by Condition feature organizes our device catalog by taking common foot and lower extremity condition categories and pairing it with recommended device types and configurations.

These recommendations are built to reflect real clinical use, giving providers a strong foundation to begin designing the right solution for their patient. Rather than starting from scratch, you’re starting with guidance.


This approach helps:

  • Match patients with appropriate solutions faster

  • Reduce uncertainty in product selection

  • Improve consistency across prescriptions

  • Support clinical decision-making without limiting flexibility


Providers still maintain full control to customize and fine-tune each device, but with a clearer, more confident starting point. The result is a more efficient workflow and a more standardized approach to care without sacrificing clinical judgment.

Ordering orthotic devices should be efficient, accurate, and easy to manage. Forward Motion 2.0 introduces a more guided and transparent ordering process, designed to support you at every step.


Smart Form Pop-Ups for Real-Time Guidance

During the prescription process, informational pop-ups provide helpful information exactly when you need it. These prompts are designed to clarify options, highlight important details, and reduce the chances of incomplete or incorrect submissions.

We hope this always accessible real-time support will help you move thorugh the ordering process with greater confidence and improve overall accuracy.


Built-In Order History and Management

Once orders are placed, everything is organized and accessible in one place. We wanted to ensure your practice is not slowed down by missing information or difficult tracking.


Your order history allows you to:

  • See current order progress in the fabrication process

  • Review past prescriptions and device details

  • Easily reorder devices for returning patients

  • Make adjustments and changes when needed

With added visibility into the fabrication process, you can track order progress and have expected turnaround times that you can communiate to your patients. This not only helps you stay organized, but also improves continuity of patient care, giving you a clear record of what has been prescribed and delivered.


Direct-to-patient Shipping

Our app now allows for a ship-to-patient option, allowing devices to be delivered directly to your patients when appropriate. This added flexibility supports a more efficient and patient-friendly workflow by allowing for situations where an in-person pickup isn’t necessary.

With direct shipping, your practice can:

  • Streamline follow-up care by reducing unnecessary appointments

  • Better serve remote or mobility-limited patients
